EuroDNS Review 2026: The Best Registrar for European Domains?

# EuroDNS Review 2026: The Best Registrar for European Domains?
EuroDNS is a Luxembourg-based domain registrar that has been operating since 2002. Unlike the big American registrars, EuroDNS built its business around European and country-code TLDs. If you need a .eu, .de, .fr, .nl, .no, or any other European ccTLD, EuroDNS is one of the few registrars that offers comprehensive coverage with localised expertise.
We registered and managed domains through EuroDNS for three months to give you an honest assessment of their pricing, features, support, and overall experience.
Company Background
EuroDNS is headquartered in Leudelange, Luxembourg, and is ICANN-accredited. They manage over 750 TLDs, which is one of the widest selections available from any single registrar. Their focus has always been the European market, and this shows in both their TLD coverage and their compliance with European regulations like GDPR.
Being based in the EU means your data is handled under EU data protection laws by default — not as an afterthought or add-on. For European businesses, this matters.
Pricing: ccTLD Focus
EuroDNS pricing is competitive for European ccTLDs but not particularly cheap for generic TLDs like .com. Here is how their pricing compares for popular European extensions:
| TLD | EuroDNS Registration | EuroDNS Renewal | Namecheap Renewal | Cloudflare Renewal | |-----|---------------------|-----------------|-------------------|-------------------| | .eu | €5.90 | €7.90 | ~€9.50 | ~€8.50 | | .de | €6.90 | €8.90 | ~€8.18 | ~€8.50 | | .fr | €8.90 | €10.90 | ~€10.88 | ~€10.44 | | .nl | €7.90 | €9.90 | ~€9.88 | ~€9.50 | | .no | €14.90 | €14.90 | N/A | N/A | | .com | €12.90 | €14.90 | ~€13.58 | ~€10.44 |
For .eu and several other European extensions, EuroDNS is genuinely competitive and sometimes the cheapest option. For .com registrations, you will pay more than at Cloudflare or Porkbun, so it makes sense to use EuroDNS specifically for your European domains and a different registrar for your generic ones.
The .no pricing deserves special mention. Very few international registrars even offer .no domains because Norid (the Norwegian registry) has specific requirements. EuroDNS is one of the rare registrars outside Norway that can register .no domains, making it a genuine option for businesses targeting the Norwegian market without going through a local Norwegian registrar.
DNS Management
EuroDNS provides a DNS management interface that covers all the standard record types: A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV, and NS records. The interface is functional and clean, though it feels a generation behind what Cloudflare or even Namecheap offers in terms of modern design.
Key DNS features include: - Standard DNS hosting included free with every domain - Premium DNS (Anycast) available for an additional fee, providing faster global resolution - DNS templates that let you save and reuse configurations across multiple domains — very useful if you manage many domains with similar setups - DNSSEC support for domains that require it
The DNS propagation speed using their standard DNS is acceptable but not remarkable. If you need the fastest possible DNS resolution globally, you will want to either upgrade to their premium DNS or use Cloudflare's nameservers while keeping your domain registered at EuroDNS.
WHOIS Privacy
This is where EuroDNS shows its age compared to modern registrars. WHOIS privacy costs €4.90 per year per domain. In 2026, when Namecheap, Cloudflare, Porkbun, and Hover all include WHOIS privacy for free, charging nearly five euros a year for it feels outdated.
To be fair, GDPR already redacts most personal information from WHOIS lookups for EU-registered individuals and companies. So if you are based in the EU and your domain's WHOIS contact is an EU address, your personal details are already partially protected by regulation. The paid WHOIS privacy service adds an extra layer by replacing your details with proxy information, but for many EU users, it is less essential than it would be for someone in the US or Asia.
Still, the principle matters. Free WHOIS privacy has become a baseline feature at modern registrars, and EuroDNS should follow suit.
Domain Transfer Experience
We transferred a .eu domain into EuroDNS and the process was smooth. The interface walked us through each step: entering the authorization code, confirming contact details, and verifying via email. The transfer completed in about two days, which is standard for .eu domains.
Transferring domains out of EuroDNS was equally straightforward. We unlocked the domain, requested an EPP code, and received it via email within an hour. There were no dark patterns or barriers designed to discourage transfers, which is always a good sign.
Customer Support
EuroDNS offers support via email, ticket system, and phone during European business hours (Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm CET). We tested their support with three different queries:
1. DNS configuration question — responded within four hours via email with a clear, accurate answer 2. Billing enquiry — responded within six hours, resolved correctly 3. Phone call about domain transfer — connected within two minutes, agent was knowledgeable and helpful
Support quality was consistently good. The agents clearly understood domain management beyond basic scripted responses. This is where specialised registrars often outperform the big generalists — the support team deals with domain issues all day, not hosting, website builders, and twenty other products.
The main limitation is the support hours. If you need help outside European business hours, you are limited to email and may not get a response until the next business day.
Account Interface and Dashboard
The EuroDNS dashboard is functional but not modern. It gets the job done — you can manage domains, edit DNS, handle billing, and set up auto-renewal without issues. But the interface feels dated compared to Porkbun or Cloudflare's sleek designs.
Bulk domain management is a strength. If you manage many European domains, EuroDNS offers tools for bulk DNS changes, bulk transfers, and portfolio-level settings that are more capable than what most registrars provide. This makes it a solid choice for agencies or businesses with large European domain portfolios.
Who Should Use EuroDNS
EuroDNS is a good choice if you: - Need European ccTLDs, especially .eu, .de, .fr, .nl, or .no - Want a registrar based in the EU with full GDPR compliance by default - Manage a portfolio of European domains and need bulk management tools - Value knowledgeable phone support during European business hours - Need access to niche European extensions that major US registrars do not carry
EuroDNS is not the best choice if you: - Primarily need .com or other generic TLDs (Cloudflare or Porkbun will be cheaper) - Expect free WHOIS privacy as a baseline feature - Need 24/7 support availability - Want the most modern, polished user interface - Are looking for the absolute lowest prices across all TLDs
Our Rating: 4.1 out of 5
EuroDNS earns its rating through genuine specialisation. It does one thing well: European and country-code domains. The pricing is competitive for its core TLDs, the support team is knowledgeable, and the transfer experience is clean. The WHOIS privacy charge and the slightly dated interface hold it back from a higher score.
If you run a business that operates across European markets and need reliable ccTLD registration with support from people who understand European domain regulations, EuroDNS is a strong choice. For everything else, the larger registrars offer better value.
